Rev. Fr. Felix Punnakkattussery, SAC purchased the land in 1971 and  constructed a church. He had many catechists and initiated extensive  mission work along with food for work programme. It was the period of  great drought. Lots of people had accepted the faith, from the Satnami community as there was no proper follow up programmes many left the  practice of faith and now there is hardly anyone. From the very beginning  Sisters of St. Anne of Bangalore worked here and they used to run a  dispensary and engage in social service activities and now they have an English Medium School and a hostel for girls.
