Baloda, consisting mostly of the people of the Gada community, was  a substation of Kutela Parish. Rev. Fr. Robert Abele, SAC bought a piece of  land in 1974 and the presbytery was constructed in 1981. This station was  looked after by the Pallottine Fathers from Kutela. Rev. Fr. John Thuruthel
was appointed as the first Priest-in-charge in 1984. Many people had  embraced Catholic faith but later on abandoned the faith and joined other  Christian sects. Salesian Sisters of Mary Immaculate were rendering their  services in the pastoral and medical field. Due to financial exigencies they
could not continue their mission here
