Amsena mission station was established in 1984 by Fr. Jacob Puthenkandam. Leaders from 42 Satnami villages in Raipur District wanted evangelization in the area and they came together in Tindini to plan the project. Fr. De Meulder S.J. and Bishop Philip Ekka of Ambikapur were also invited to the gathering. Amsena was selected as a place for the pilot plan to start with. But the project did not realize as per the intention according to the plan. Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart was serving this community. But later they left the place. The diocese developed the place and now there is a Hindi medium school up to class VIII. Sisters of Daughters of St. Anne’s of Ranchi have opened a house and are teaching in the school.
