Rev. Fr. Xavier Chirackal, SAC purchased land and a house was constructed in it. This mission station was opened on 17th June 1981. On the request of the people of Bhatapara town, St. Mary’s English Medium School was started in 1994. Tilda is a sub-station under Bhatapara. Pastoral Care of the people of the Parish and of Tilda are taken care by the diocesan Priests residing at Bhatapara. Sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel(CMC) render their services here and at Tilda. Parish Church has neither been constructed here nor at Tilda. At Tilda the C.M.C. Sisters run an English Medium School Compared to Tilda the number of catholic families are very few at Bhatapara.
